[ EDY ENRIQUEZ ]
Getting his start at Pasadena City College, Edy Enriquez received an AA in communications where he studied film theory and television production. He continued his education at California State University, Los Angeles where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Film / Television Broadcasting, putting himself through school at nights while working in the industry during the day. At this time he made the final 5 out of 50,000 for a chance to direct Michael Jackson's, "Who Is It?" music video.
Enriquez's road to film production began at Video Monitoring Services, a news tracking agency where he climbed up from a part time employee to a managerial position and in the end was responsible for a staff of 60 or more. His clients were primarily the top PR Firms and Advertising Agencies in the US such as Ketchum, Hill and Knowlton, Fleishman-Hillard, Burston-Marsteller, Edelman Public Relations and Ogilvy.
Enriquez then took the leap into the freelance market offering his services as Production Manager and Line Producer. His experience ranged from music videos to commercials to feature films. He worked for well known artists such as Jessica Simpson, Samantha Mumba, Ice Cube, Phil Collins, Enrique Iglesias, Lionel Ritchie, Christina Milian, Lil' Bow Wow, Missy Elliot, Ludacris and LL Cool Jay; as well as commercials for Staples, NFL, Bravo, NBC, Sieko, ESPN, Game Gear and Quicksilver.
Secretly enchanted by the art of visual effects it was only a matter of time before he bravely ventured into the dark rooms of post-production.
In 2003, his relentless drive led him to partner up with Mark Larranaga, a highly skilled Visual Effects Supervisor - together they formed X1FX. At X1 Edy has produced visual effects for a number of films such as Spiderman 3, Chronicles of Narnia, The Flyboys and Something New; as well as the 2008 summer blockbusters Hulk and Hancock. The music industry has also experienced the talents of X1FX with the music videos of Will Smith, Janet Jackson, Jamie Foxx, Britney Spears, The Backstreet Boys, Jamiroquai and many more.
